I was at my parents' and spotted this street down the road with leaves turning color. This was a shockingly unpleasant sight in the beginning of August.

Coop and Mom in their Christmas outfits! We had a pretty low key christmas this year actually. Instead of driving all over the state making it to every Christmas celebration, we took our time getting ready on Christmas morning, and then made our way back to Madison and celebrated with Jon's family. It was niiiice.

Christmas Eve is always celebrated at my parents' house with the whole family on my mom's side. I really wish I had a better Christmas-y picture, but I guess I was just having too much fun partying and didn't really take many good pics.

We changed things up this year and played a little family trivia game that my cousin, aunt and sister put together. (That's what this picture is all about) It was so fun and we all had a lot of laughs reminiscing.

Ok, so this is kind of a funny story. At least funny to me, my family and Gina's friend, Aly. Back in 2001, Survivor was super popular. We loved it as much as the rest of the country. It was in its second season and since we loved the first season so much, we decided to have a small viewing party at my parents' house on the night of its premiere. At the end of the show, we decided we would all pick a winner, put them in a box and reveal our picks on the season finale. But you see, I come from a family that would not feel right to just put the slips of paper in a shoe box and be done with it. No, no, no. We made a grade school craft out of it! We put strips of masking tape all over the box and painted it brown...and I believe Gina wrote "Survivor" on the front of the box...but the best part is really inside the box. Oh yes, after all these years we still have our picks inside the box! They were written on paper scrolled up and tied with raffia...you know, to add to the rugged-ness.

My mom loves it so much, she has kept it in the same place all these years later.

This pup hardly ever lets me take her picture. It's weird. She actually looks away or looks down when I put the camera in her face. Who does she think she is??? Total diva. I got this shot when she was too tired to move.

These are my first booties as a baby. They are bronzed. That must have been a thing to do in the early 80s because I havent heard many people bronzing their baby's booties these days.

This shot was taken totally stealth style. I am sure my dad will have no clue I took it until he checks this blog. I think he was sorting mail, or clipping coupons or something.

This is how we like to spend the 4th of July. By torturing adorable little babies :) Juuuust kidding.

The 4th was pretty uneventful for us. We had a lot of plans, but none of them really happened. Instead of heading out to the parade, going down to the Northpoint snack bar, and seeing Huey Lewis at Summerfest - we had an all american McDonald's lunch, put together a little impromptu bbq dinner, went to a nearby parking lot to watch the State Fair fireworks and ended the day by watching the American classic, Knocked Up.

Happy Bday, America!!!

Obvi I have been in a black and white mood the last couple days.

I also understand this is the same kid from the prior post. Please don't hate. I hardly ever see him and I just can't help it. He is so precious!

I thought the post editing of this pic was funny though - and I'll tell you why. When I was a senior in high school, I got senior pictures taken like all good little 18 year olds do. In one of my shots, I was wearing a black turtleneck and was put against a black background. As you might have guessed, what resulted was a total Jambi moment, just like this pic. When it came time to hand out my wallet size photos to my friends, I would sign the back, "mekka lekka hi mekka hiny ho".

This is a true story. I should dig that pic up and post it.

Look at this kid!

I want to eat him up!

Look at his 3 haphazard teeth.

Gah! I love him!

Word on the street is that this kid is walking now.

(way to go, Coop!)

I stayed overnight in Milwaukee after the Britney concert and got this shot at my parents' house. Their neighbor has a lot of feeders with pretty birds flying around. Looks like this bird even took time out of its busy eating schedule to smile for the camera!

I was at my parents' on Friday night and snapped this pic while waiting in one of the bedrooms in their house for Meghan to pick me up for a movie.

I actually bought this poster, but it is one of those things that I never moved out of their house. Hopefully they haven't become too attached to it and I'll be able to snag it back one day.

And if anyone is interested, we saw Duplicity. It was highly disappointing. I almost fell asleep actually. None of us enjoyed it.

And besides that, the Majestic in Brookfield was like Grand Central Station for every area middle school and high school in the area. Is this a regular thing? Or did they all come out to see the highly anticipated fourth installment of The Fast and the Furious?
