We went to Sonic tonight for the first time! It was pretty fun. Here are some things I took away from the experience:
-The burgers were good. They kind of tasted like Gille's burgers. Kind of! I had to emphasize that because Gille's ranks pretty high on my list.
-The fries were just so-so
-The soda has the little ice. I love little ice!
-We had a malt which was pretty decent also.
-The voice over the intercom was so nice! The most pleasant I have ever heard from a fast food place for sure.
-Most of the carhops were not on rollerskates. umm, hello? I thought that was the whole deal with this place! Thankfully our girl, Red (yup, her name was red. She had red hair. Like red crayon, not natural red), rolled up on skates and we didn't have to complain :) (we wouldn't have complained. Who am I kidding?)
-This place has been open a little over a month and it was still pretty crowded! All the stalls were full at all times and the drive through had a line forming on the street.
-I give it 2 more months before the novelty wears off.

If I recall correctly, I don't think I've ever seen a server on skates at Sonic. I think they used to wear them in the "olden days", but not anymore.
The servers at the Kiltie in Oconomowoc, on the other hand, do still wear skates.
really? Our girl was totally on skates. She must be an overachiever.
We had the first Sonic open in the Cities last summer, and they had to hire traffic cops to direct people for the first month or so because it was so crazy there. I have yet to check it out (Although I have been to Sonics in the South years ago.)
I saw a commercial the other day that highlighted the fact that their servers wear roller skates. Do you think maybe up here the skates aren't consistent b/c of the weather? I know that my driveway...even with all of the melting the last couple of days...still has some pretty slick patches.
We need to get to Sonic too. If I worked there, I'd totally wear skates.
Kelly I am going to have to disagree. I went to Sonic and I am not a big fan. I said I would go back to try something else, but the first time was not great. I ordered a blue drink and I think it was called Ocean something...anyway it was like Sprite watered down. SICK! However I 100% agree on the little ice. LOVE the little ice. I am for sure going to go again especially sense you had such a good review about it. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I had some sort of burger that had BBQ sauce on it and I had know idea it was going to have BBQ sauce on it. ICK!
-yes, I am sure the the ice has something to do with the non rollerskating.
-ack! burger with bbq sauce sounds weird.
