A Lovely Day for an Ironman...

...and when I say lovely, I mean miserable. I cannot think of a worse day to compete in an Ironman actually. It was in the fifties and raining all day. Eventhough the weather was crappy, I still really wanted to see it all go down. So Jon and I headed down at around 7pm to see the bulk of the athletes cross the finish. My favorite was when people would do the last block of the race holding the hand of someone that was obviously important to them...son, daughter, friend, spouse, etc. It was inspiring...makes you want to be an Ironman.

We were in the rain since 7am. It really is an awesome event. The finish always brings me to tears... especially when the moms and dads take their kids down the finish chute. As amazing as it is, being an Ironman is a lot of work I don't want to do.
