Stolen Shoes

Last night one of my favorite episodes of Sex and the City aired, "A Woman's Right To Shoes". I actually don't know if it is my favorite because of its content, but more because of the beautiful shoes featured on the show. The episode has Carrie and Stanford go to a party where they are forced to take off their shoes upon entering. Carrie is beside herself because she is wearing "an outfit", but reluctantly did so, only to find them gone when she was on her way out the door. The shoe I am referring to is the Sedaraby silver Manolo Blahnik heels. Ever since I saw this episode, I have wanted these shoes so bad. Unfortch, they go for about $800 on ebay. I told Jon that the minute I win the lottery, I am buying these heels.

In other shoe news, check out the cute new Mini Uggs...

Maxwell Street Days

I read on the home page of the Madison Isthmus that "If you don’t need it, State Street has it. And if State Street doesn’t want it any more, it puts it out on a table during Maxwell Street Days." That could not be more true. I look forward to this weekend all year and this year did not disappoint. Dizzy and Julie came in for the day...so the two of them, Jon and I headed out in the swealtering heat, determined to find some bargains. And bargains we got at the famous sidewalk sale. The most notable were a pair of Ugg loafers for $30 at Bop, and a bag full of merchandise from Urban Outfitters (including 6 scarves and 4 shirts) for $13.

Another great part of this weekend is watching the Paddle and Portage. It is a fun race that includes teams of 2 doing a 1.5 mile paddle, a 1.5 mile portage, and another 1.5 mile paddle. The portage goes through downtown and around the square. It is amazing to see so many people running through the streets carrying canoes. This along with the weekly Farmer's Market makes it a busy, fun day to be in downtown Madison.

No pics. I know, I suck. However, here are 2 pics from LAST year...

28

Go Gina, it's your birthday. How's your grandma? She's fine.
(I just found out from Jon that this sing songy phrase is not a known thing...is that just something Gina and I know? I thought everyone knew "how's your grandma"!)
